The Mystery Files of Roxie Leighton

{June 7, 2010}   The Case of a Little Dirt

Wake up Roxie! Another day another dollar!

I hate you so much right now but I’m getting up.

Is that a tattoo I see???

Duh you’re the one that made me get it because its just like the one you have on your back.

Ooooo Yeaaah that’s right! Looks good on ya! :D

I checked my phone and noticed I received a message while I slept. It was another case! Rosy Whelohff wants me to obtain some dirt on someone. I should check with her about the case.

Whelohff? Isn’t that the wife of Rich from yesterday’s case? Maybe this is a set up to get you back for calling him a noopen poopen?

They don’t know it was me that did that stop worrying!

After eating the delicious waffles I made for breakfast I set out to interview Mrs. Whelohff. Turns out she is convinced Molly Coddle is trying to hack into the public library’s database. As a stalwart defender of public libraries, Rosy wants me to gather evidence by inspecting the mail and searching the trash of Molly Coddle’s home. So I paid a visit to the Coddle residence while everyone was out.

I only needed to investigate the mail box and trash can for evidence but I decided to break into the home to see if there would be even better evidence inside.

After a couple of minutes I was IN! I scanned the living room as I made my way upstairs to the bedroom. People always hide things they don’t want others to see in there.

My eyes immediately rested on Molly Coddle’s laptop. And oh what a laptop it was. Top of the line and the loveliest shade of blue. Little did I know this would be the beginning of a long Good Cop/ Bad Cop battle within myself.

Today the bad cop would win. I’ve been rolling wishes to get a computer for the longest but they’re so expensive! I started rationalizing with myself. It could aid me in many more cases to come, if she’s doing illegal activity the local police would take the computer anyway, I could always return it in the mail after I made enough money to buy my own…In the end I decided to take the computer in for “evidence” as well as the lamp mainly because it was so cute.

Suddenly I was overwhelmed with emotions. Fear, excitement, guilt all bubbled inside me. I quickly hurried home forgetting why I was at the Coddle’s residence in the first place. Once home I placed the computer on the table and just stared. It sure cost a pretty penny, I thought to myself.

I hopped in the shower in hopes of washing off the dirty feeling I was experiencing and attempted to sleep it off. The next morning I gathered my wits about me and went to the Coddle residence once again. This time it was all business. I headed straight for the mail box and garbage can.

Turns out Rosy’s wild suspicions were correct, I found receipts for library hacking software and a modem specifically designed for library data base infiltration. I returned this information to Rosy Whelohff and she was quite pleased when I presented the evidence of Molly Coddle’s crime. Case Closed….Assuming Mrs Whelohff knows what to do with the evidence.
