The Mystery Files of Roxie Leighton

{April 12, 2011}   You Will Be Loved

Life went back to normal when Roxie returned to Twinbrooke and she soon put her adventures in France and that kind man she met behind her. Unfortunately he wasn’t as nice as she thought and it didn’t take too long for Roxie to find out she was pregnant. Yves managed to send her home with her own little French souvenir.

THAT DIRTY LOW DOWN NO GOOD BASTARD!

Unfortunately she had no way of getting in contact with Yves and began to brace herself for life as a single mother.

Baby or no baby Roxie still had to pay the bills so she continued her job the best she could.

Just be one with the branches Roxie

But all work and no play will lead to a very depressing life so she managed to take herself out every so often and enjoy the quiet life before it would be filled with the screams of a crying infant.

Eventually as the days flew by Roxie became more and more attached to this growing life that took over her body.  It seemed as if each kick strengthened their bond.

Then one night Roxie woke up suddenly to an extremely shape pain and the sound of gushing water. It was the worst pain she’s ever felt in her life.

She rushed herself to the hospital and was in labor for 20 hours before she gave birth to a little girl she named Vivian after one of her favorite female singers.

Vivian
Favorites:
Music – Soul
Food – Frog legs
Color – Spiceberry

Vivian’s room was decorated in her favorite color and she had the cutest baby room in the neighborhood.

The following months filled with endless feedings, cries, diaper changes, and a growing bond between  a mother and her daughter.

{September 22, 2010}   An apology gift :D

I have definitely been slacking on my legacy writing. 12 hour shifts at work and a computer that’s decided to spaz out as soon as the warranty ended has left little time for playing much less writing. But to make it up to anyone that is following this (Anyone out there???….hears echo lol) I am posting a mini challenge I’ve started working on last night.  Its called the Toddler Mania Challenge for more information or to read the rules look here http://mountainshade1.livejournal.com/15401.html

{July 31, 2010}   Un Voyage En France

Shortly after completing her case with Ms Knack, Roxie rolled a want to travel to France. Being a lover of the French culture who was I to say no? Before she knew it Roxie was in a cab and on her way.

Once in France I sent Roxie to the Nectar making place to make her own wine. There she met Gatson Dutiel the merchant.

Gatson: Bonjour mademoiselle! Welcome to France

I briefly thought of possibly having Gatson help Roxie out in the baby making department but she adamantly refused. Gatson on the other hand liked my idea

Gatson: Les choses que je pourrais faire à vous….
Roxie: What was that???
Gatson: Oh nothing madame! Enjoy your stay!

Oh ho Gatson you naughty naughty man.

Feeling a bit weird-ed out Roxie purchased her fruit to make her wine and went to the smashing room.

Of course being the clumsy sim she is, it didn’t take long for her to slip and fall.

After it was all done it turned out to be a horrible batch of nectar but she traveled to France for the experiences not the alcohol. She did however sample many different types of nectar and was heavily intoxicated when she met this man…Yves Bernard. He was charming, he was handsome, he was french….and he knew a drunk woman when he sees one.

He didn’t have to whisper too many sweet nothings in her ear before he managed to get her to his bed.

Roxie awoke the next morning in a daze and with a killer headache. Yves explained to her that she was heavily intoxicated and he drove her to his home so she could sober up safely. He assured her that absolutely nothing happened between them the night before and suggested she showered up to help with the hangover.

Even though she still had a headache, Roxie was feeling a bit rejuvenated.  She decided to travel around France and maybe squeeze in an adventure or two if time permitted. She thanked Yves for his kindness and was on her way.

Luck was in the air! Roxie was able to find an adventure in no time. Gerald Morel was searching for someone brave enough to retrieve a lost artifact from a tomb he explored earlier that week. Apparently the item fell out of his pocket as he was leaving. She followed the map and made it to the entrance of the tomb in no time.

"This is the kind of stuff you read about in books!"

She took a deep breath as she proceeded down the stairs. You can do this, Roxie whispered to herself, there’s nothing to be afraid of…

GREEEEEAAAAAT

Awaiting her at the bottom of the stairs was her first obstacle, a huge pile of rocks blocking the door to the next room. Luckily Gerald stocked her with supplies for her trip so she took out the pick axe and began the back breaking labor of clearing the pathway.

"This freaking artifact has better be worth it!"

After hours of working and having to stop to take breaks the rubble was finally cleared only to find a solid wall. WTF!!!!!! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

POR QUE?!

As she was pounding her fist against the wall in anger, a brick push in and the wall suddenly began to turn and open up to another room.

Ehhh???

The next puzzle was pretty self explanatory. There was a stone on the ground with an imprint of two feet on it, She seen enough Indian Jones movies to know she needed to stand on top of it and hoped deadly arrows didn’t start flying out.

"Please dont let me die, please dont let me die, PLEASE dont let me die"

What was that click??? *gulp*

Much to her relief and dismay, another stepping stone appeared.

And the point of the first one was??

She stepped on the second one hoping this will be the one to advance her to the next room. Instead a hole opened up in the wall. Roxie decided to check it out and  thought good thoughts as she slowly stuck her arm inside.

Its ok... nothing will be in there...my arm wont get cut off

OMG OMG WTF, CUT IT OFF, CUT IT OFF I can live with just one arm!!!

She thanked the heavens that the lever she pulled before the bugs ambushed her arm unlocked the door and she was able to escape to the next room. Unfortunately what she found made her worry even more.

I hope I dont end up like this guy!

She made her way around the corpse and found stairs leading even deeper into the tomb.

After several more rooms that weren’t too interesting Roxie finally found the room she was searching for.

Roxie found the artifact she worked so hard to find, much to her surprise she risked her life for a …….baseball? If she hadn’t found piles of treasure and other interesting items Roxie would’ve been highly upset. She returned Gerald’s precious ball to him and rolled a want to go home which I granted.

Here's your freaking ball...

Before she left to the airport Roxie made one last stop to say her goodbyes to Yves and thank him once again.

Will Roxie and Yves keep in touch?
Did Roxie take home more souvenirs than she knows?

Tune in next time to find out. :D

So sorry for the lack of an update, if anyone is reading this…if not then no harm done :D , I went out of state plus I’m in the process of moving and packing etc. Unfortunately I lost my notebook with all my cases in the chaos so I’ll have to skip a few stories and add them later when I find them. Oh and I’m switching back to my normal way of writing just cuz….well cuz I want to now on with the update…

Juienne Knack contacted Roxie about a prized flamingo statue that disappeared. Unclear as to what it is about a yard ornament that can be prized, Roxie decided to check it out.

Julienne spent more time gabbing about the estimated value of the statue and its regal origins than telling Roxie anything useful about recovering the piece. I sent Roxie to ask around town to see if anybody has seen this prized piece.

First person on her list was Mary Baker.

"Flamingos have to be one of the most gaudy choices in modern lawn furniture"

After asking her husband Lincoln and son Newton the leads haven/t been much of help in the flamingo search and Roxie was back to square one. Unfortunately Juilenne was harping about how the flamingo is a piece of artwork. Perhaps it might be found at the local art gallery? Roxie was about to find out.

Thinking she’s been had, Roxie found the flamingo at the art gallery but wasn’t sure if it belonged there. Julieene is so desperate to convince people the flamingo is a work of art that she probable put it there….and forgot about it? Regardless it was time to return the flamingo. Julienne was delighted to learn the flamingo was found  at the gallery.

Julienne: “how fitting”

Roxie: “How deranged” *accepts her fee and backs up slowly*

Why is it that people are always losing their wallets? I cannot imagine a more important piece of leather. Buck Green wants to hire me to recover a lost wallet. I asked Buck to mentally retrace any footsteps taken over the last few hours and it appears Buck made a brief stop at the beach, which means my first stop will be to snoop for clues there.

Where are his muscles?

I haven’t the slightest idea…Let me look closer.

Once at the beach I began my search..

i managed to recover Buck’s driver license, but no sign of the meatier prize — the wallet. I decided to question some locals to see if they’ve seen the wayward wallet. The first person I asked was Molly Coddle who calmly responded “I don’t know anything about a wallet. I cannot even find MY wallet”

Both Molly Coddle (on the left) and Amy Bull (on the right) looked suspicious.

I also asked Amy Bull and received the same response. I was beginning to wonder if there was a wallet stealing crime spree going on in Twinbrook.  Finally I was able to come across some information.  Harwood Clay informed me that he in fact saw Robert Castor picking up a wallet and hurrying off somewhere.

I met up with Robert Caster at his home. He claimed to know something about the wallet but wont reveal any information. I’ve seen this before. I’ll either need to befriend him and be convincing enough …or use a bribe.

Since I’m low on funds I decided the best way was to become his friend. It didn’t take long and I was able to get Robert to confess. He claimed to have found it on the ground and as usual, i heard the defense ” I was going to return it!!” RIGHT. Either way I returned the wallet to Mr. Green myself.

Buck Green couldn’t have been happier to see the recovered wallet. Turns out there was quiet a bit of money in the wallet that, remarkable nobody took. The case of the missing billfold is closed.

Later on in the day I received a phone call from the mayor’s office! In honor of solving 3 cases the Mayor of Twinbrook would like to reward me with the Investigator’s Trophy of Honor and I was asked to stop by City Hall to receive my award. I rushed over to City Hall convinced it was a joke or some kind of mix up. Me receiving an award from the Mayor? I have got to be dreaming. Once I made it there I stopped in front of the door, taking in a deep breath before stepping inside.

It was amazing! I fought back the tears as I listened to the Mayor’s speech.

Mayor: Greeting Roxie! It is my honor to reward you with the Investigator’s Trophy of Honor in recognition of 3 cases solved! You are shaping up to be a fine investigator and the citizens of Twinbrook expect great things of you! Keep up the good work.

I stretched outside after the ceremony and said proudly to myself All in a days work…mainly because I’ve always wanted to say that. I went home to put my trophy on the dresser. It was one amazing sight if I said so myself.

{June 7, 2010}   The Case of a Little Dirt

Wake up Roxie! Another day another dollar!

I hate you so much right now but I’m getting up.

Is that a tattoo I see???

Duh you’re the one that made me get it because its just like the one you have on your back.

Ooooo Yeaaah that’s right! Looks good on ya! :D

I checked my phone and noticed I received a message while I slept. It was another case! Rosy Whelohff wants me to obtain some dirt on someone. I should check with her about the case.

Whelohff? Isn’t that the wife of Rich from yesterday’s case? Maybe this is a set up to get you back for calling him a noopen poopen?

They don’t know it was me that did that stop worrying!

After eating the delicious waffles I made for breakfast I set out to interview Mrs. Whelohff. Turns out she is convinced Molly Coddle is trying to hack into the public library’s database. As a stalwart defender of public libraries, Rosy wants me to gather evidence by inspecting the mail and searching the trash of Molly Coddle’s home. So I paid a visit to the Coddle residence while everyone was out.

I only needed to investigate the mail box and trash can for evidence but I decided to break into the home to see if there would be even better evidence inside.

After a couple of minutes I was IN! I scanned the living room as I made my way upstairs to the bedroom. People always hide things they don’t want others to see in there.

My eyes immediately rested on Molly Coddle’s laptop. And oh what a laptop it was. Top of the line and the loveliest shade of blue. Little did I know this would be the beginning of a long Good Cop/ Bad Cop battle within myself.

Today the bad cop would win. I’ve been rolling wishes to get a computer for the longest but they’re so expensive! I started rationalizing with myself. It could aid me in many more cases to come, if she’s doing illegal activity the local police would take the computer anyway, I could always return it in the mail after I made enough money to buy my own…In the end I decided to take the computer in for “evidence” as well as the lamp mainly because it was so cute.

Suddenly I was overwhelmed with emotions. Fear, excitement, guilt all bubbled inside me. I quickly hurried home forgetting why I was at the Coddle’s residence in the first place. Once home I placed the computer on the table and just stared. It sure cost a pretty penny, I thought to myself.

I hopped in the shower in hopes of washing off the dirty feeling I was experiencing and attempted to sleep it off. The next morning I gathered my wits about me and went to the Coddle residence once again. This time it was all business. I headed straight for the mail box and garbage can.

Turns out Rosy’s wild suspicions were correct, I found receipts for library hacking software and a modem specifically designed for library data base infiltration. I returned this information to Rosy Whelohff and she was quite pleased when I presented the evidence of Molly Coddle’s crime. Case Closed….Assuming Mrs Whelohff knows what to do with the evidence.

Meet Roxie….

Woah woah woah this is MY story and I believe I should be the one telling it

But I’m the one that’s supposed to be the all-mighty one in the sky like in most legacy blogs these days…

Well didn’t YOU just say that this wasn’t going to be your normal legacy?

OK! No need to shout I’ll shut up…Take it away maestro.

ANYWAYS…The name is Leighton, Roxie Leighton and I’m a PI.” (actually Roxie you’re an aspiring private investigator you haven’t exactly started just yet but continue)

Roxie Leighton, Private Investigator at your services.

I’ve recently moved to Twinbrook from the sleepy town of  Sunset Valley in hopes of becoming an established PI. I was born to be a detective considering I’m a perceptive, computer wiz that loves to read and is slightly a perfectionist.

Don’t forget you’re also clumsy!

Alright! So I have one little flaw, I tend to be a bit clumsy and sometimes trip over my own two feet but no one’s perfect including YOU up there.

Point taken

After getting settled in my cozy 2 bedroom 1 bath house I decided to head to the library in hopes in getting hired for my first case.

Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm...I have no clue why the X-Files theme song is stuck in my head but its catchy.

First things first, I got to improve my logic skills. No one wants to hire a PI that doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Plus using big words always makes one seem smarter.

Not if you use the wrong words

Feeling smarter already, I decided it was time to find my first case.

Finally! My first case! Holly Greenwood wants to hire me to do some cyber warfare. Ideally this will be a big case involving data theft and piracy, although I’m sure its just a forum quibble I need to settle. She decided to interview Ms Greenwood for the details.

Some days I hate my job. Ms Greenwood is worried that Rich Whelohff has been saying mean things about her on a forum both of them frequent. It’s my job to hack into the Rick Whelohff’s computer to set things straight. Ugh!

You can’t expect your first job to be worthy of prime time new! Baby step Roxie!

Just let me vent for a bit ok?! I had my hopes up…

Back to the library I went and because of my superior logic skills I was able to hack into his account no problem.

Weird Child: Hey Ms. Lady whaaaaatcha dooooing????

Roxie: I’m busy working shouldn’t you….OMG you poor child did some one attack you with scissors? Look at your hair! Here’s my card if you need any help I’ll be on the case!

Uhm Roxie by the way that kid just ran off crying I think his hair was SUPPOSED to look that way

Ohh…too late now.. I’m not proud of myself, but I went online and called Mr. Whelohff a “noopen poopen,” which is apparently something really mean in some online circles. Nevertheless I went to tell Ms. Greenwood the job was done.

Ms Greenwood gasped when I mentioned I used the term “noopen poopen.” Apparently I used too much force in this forum skirmish. Nevertheless Holly Greenwood is pleased and I got paid. CASED CLOSED.

Yay! $650 in your pocket! You’re on your way to buying that laptop you keep rolling wishes for! Now how about we go out in town and find you a husband to help you make sim babies!

GASPS! Do you know what sim babies can do to me? They’ll ruin my girlish figure,  and slow down my progress at work. How can I do a stake-out with screaming toddlers?

Ok ok the babies can wait but you WILL provide a heir whether from your womb or through adoption.

After all that hard work I decided to go home and make a salad since that was all I know how to make. Which is another reason why I’m not ready for sim babies.

Full and content with life I went to sleep with high hopes of achieving my dreams.

{June 3, 2010}   Welcome

This is my legacy challenge. I started one once before but alas, due to technical difficulties I had to delete everything. The good news is I’m back and ready to start fresh!  This isn’t your normal legacy challenge however, Instead of starting with nothing but an empty lot, my sim will be starting as people would in the real world. In a simple house working her way up from the bottom. Without any further interruptions, please continue onward :D
